And, no, I am not talking about the obvious "there is a hole in your living room wall". My handsome engineer had to cut the whole in order to run some new electrical wire to the upstairs (and then the attic). We tried to run it without cutting into the drywall, but it didn't work out--the wire kept getting stuck. and by "we" I actually do mean "we" this time--I helped!
actually, maybe that was the problem . . .
Anyway, this is an external wall. And it is missing something vital. Something that has made winters much more difficult for this Southern girl.

When my brother and s-i-l were redoing their house they found that almost an entire exterior wall had absolutely no insulation! They had been living in that house for 8 years with it like that!!
Oh, my, can you blow in some insulation???
